Down Tor Stone Row and Circle
Down Tor Stone Row and Circle

Down Tor Stone Row and Circle, sunrise. I broke camp at Newleycombe Lake at 3.30am. I was in position for the blue hour from 5am. I took a series of shots, then I was blown away with the sun penetrating the cloud, casting long shadows from the stones. 19/05/2021, 0600hrs. This dates back to 1500 BC, the Bronze Age. There is a cist in the centre of the circle, which would have been for the ashes of a chief. You can just see the stone row if you look towards the sunrise.
